Web Design NM began in May of 1998 strangely enough as Trout Flies by Phil. The business name will always remain Trout Flies by Phil.  Phil Springer spent 6 months literally burning midnight oil learning how to build a web site to promote his trout fly tying business and his first web site was born. The web site features fly fishing in Northern New Mexico trout streams for the featured watersheds.

By January of 2000 Springer began to market a new CD in web site format featuring the trout watersheds from his web site. That same month he quit selling trout flies but continued to promote his web site and sell his CDs from the web site and through local fly shops.

During the same year Springer was approached by the New Mexico Defense Lawyers Association to build and maintain a web site for their association. Since then several web sites such as the New Mexico Society of Professional Engineers and the Structural Engineers Association of New Mexico have been built and are being maintained by Web Design NM.
